Dr. Ambedkar National Relief to Scheduled Caste Victims of Atrocities-revised

About Scheme:

This Scheme is formulated keeping in view the growing atrocities against the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes with a view to financially assist the victims of atrocities. The Scheme is of the nature of contingency arrangement to provide instant monetary relief to the victims of heinous offences of atrocities under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The State Government / UT Admn. or the District Administration may, in the cases falling under the categories of atrocities identified under the scheme, prepare proposal for financial assistance to the Victim(s) of Atrocities, and forwarded to the Foundation for consideration. The Foundation may also take suo-motu cognizance of any case of atrocity. The relief amount up to Rs.5.00 lakh would be paid to each victim with the approval of the Chairperson of the Foundation. This amount would be in addition to the minimum amount of relief as prescribed under Rule 12 (4) of the POA Rules. This is meant for providing financial assistance to the victims of atrocities or their family members or dependents in order to compensate them financially.
